COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The junior chorus has two major performances per year.  Attendance at these concerts is mandatory, as performance constitutes forty percent of the grade.  The rest of the grade is comprised of rehearsal attendance, effort, and written assignments.  Students sing, listen to, and study music from a wide variety of styles, places and times.  Elements of music are taught in relation to performance practice.  Basic sight-singing is taught as part of the course.  Trips to competitions, performances, and concerts may also be included as part of the course.  Membership in chorus is a prerequisite for participation in All-County ensembles and NYSSMA auditions and ensembles.

Dress for all concerts is school-appropriate black pants or skirts, and white shirts.
